Wow, so True Blood is finally back and there is no apparent drop off in quality since the curtain fell on the awesome first season.
First things first, we all knew that Lafayette was not the owner of that dead foot in the season 1 finale. There’s no way they’re going to kill off one of the best characters for a cheap cliffhanger thrill. So, I was quite happy that the mean witch doctor / drug store worker did get what was coming to her. Why did she get it? I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. But I’m happy to see Lafayette alive. Did the vamps kidnap him because he was dealing V or for some other blood-sucking reason? One thing for sure is that they mean business as Eric rips Royce to shreds for trying to stab him with the cross. Gruesome.
And I’m going to just confess right that Maryann just freaks me out, plain and simple. I would’ve run too if I were Sam and not just because I took a butt load of money from her. It was somewhat fun to see her tell off Tara’s mother, but I’m genuinely concerned that Tara’s going to find out too late that Maryanne’s hospitality is masking a whole mess of craziness.
Meanwhile, Sookie and Bill are experiencing road bumps in their relationship as she learns of Bill’s turning of Jessica. She can’t believe that her man vamp could actually kill someone AND keep the secret from her for so long. And now, she has to deal with the fact that Jessica will always be the third wheel in their party. Yup, the honeymoon phase is over for these too; they’ll soon be arguing about who should take out the trash.
And Jason is just as disillusioned; he’s all-chips-in on this Light of Day Institute. I’m guessing that it will be about 3 or 4 episodes before he’s back to sleeping with everything that has a pulse and getting himself back into trouble.
But, next week is looking to be even more juicer. Will Lafayette escape the clutches of Eric or will he make him a vampire (I’m betting no). Meanwhile, Sookie is stuck babysitting Jessica and Sam continues his war of words with Maryann.
Check out the preview of Episode 2, “Keep the Party Going” below and make sure to tune in on Sunday on HBO.

Funniest scene was when the department store girl thought Bill and Eric were vampire lovers!
There’s only one legitimate place I’ve found to watch it, the rest seem like scams :-/ You can see it over here though:

They make you do a little survey but after that it’s good to go
Can’t wait for tonight’s episode!
SOOKI IS MIIIIINE!!!!!!
best show on TV right now. The acting, casting and script are alll AMAZING! This is the only reason i got HBO back. I cancelled it and tuned out after Sopranos. True Blood has so many different nuances and the best part is: IT”S NOT A VAMPIRE SHOW. People think that all the time. IT’S NOT. There just happen to be vampires.
There are so many dynamics involved that I wish more people would watch. I am so excited for this show and realllllllly thrilled that it’s regular seasons so far and not like the other HBO shows that have such an odd scheduling time. That really turned me off of them.
Anne PAquin is great. The entire casting is great.
