E3 may be over, but the Game Room is back on BuzzFocus. This week Michele and JHoop take a look at Fight Night Round 4 from EA Sports.
Fight Night has long worn the crown of best boxing simulation game for the home console. However, Fight Night has still held on to its fair share of problematic gameplay. The first three iterations of Fight Night were realistic for the time, but suffered from slow gameplay and lag between punches. Also, the Fight Night franchise suffered from the same flaws as the typical fighting game: namely repetitive knockdowns and character physics. No matter how you hit your opponent, each reaction was the same.
Fight Night Round 4 heralds an entirely new style of boxing thanks to EA Sports dedication to creating a brand new custom physics engine for the title. Muscle flex, reactions to varying punches and knockdowns have all been meticulously examined and engineered to create a dynamic game where no two fights will ever be the same.
