Producers of Fox’s 24 are already working on the show’s upcoming 8th season.
Jennifer Westfeldt, who has recently did an arc in Grey’s Anatomy and also starred in 2002’s Kissing Jessica Stein, is set to join in a recurring role as Meredith Reed. The character will be an ambitious journalist that has ties to Arman Hashemi, who will be played by Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor.
Also cast is actor John Boyd, who will play a CTU systems analyst. As we previously reported, CTU will apparently be reassembled (perhaps because of the success of Chloe O’Brian in thwarting terrorists in Season 7).
Day 8 of 24 will be set in New York City and is set to begin production this month. The season will follow the typical airing schedule and will premiere next January.
