Hot off the success of Nickelodeon’s launch of the Penguins of Madagascar, the kid-centered network is picking up Kung Fu Panda: The Series.  The show will, of course, be based on the much-loved Dreamworks Animation box office smash.

If you haven’t seen Kung Fu Panda (you should), it follows Po, a rotund Panda that takes it upon himself to learn martial arts. He was amusingly voiced by Jack Black, who I hope will return to voice Po in the series as well.

Penguins probably had a lot to do with this order as it debuted as the most watched premiere in Nick’s history at 6.1 million viewers. Combine that with the fact that Kung Fu Panda took in roughly $632 million worldwide at the box office and you’ve got another formula for success.
