If you thought Wii Fitness was a step in the right direction for the Wii, you’ll love EA Sports Active. This game is one title that will have you break a sweat, and not because you just can’t seem to get that uppercut or jab out right.
EA Sports Active takes fitness to the next level, with activities like basketball and running. We haven’t seen a simulated running game hit a home console since the days of the Nintendo Power Pad. Sports Active trumps the old Power Pad quick-toe-tap mechanics by introducing a leg strap to track movements on-screen and really build up a cardio workout. The game also features a resistance band for strength training and toning exercises, like bicep curls and shoulder presses.
The real benefit with this title is creating your own custom workouts at home. You can modify what kind of exercises you as well as difficulty. With Wii Active Sports, the Wii can officially proclaim itself a gaming and exercise machine all-in-one.

EA Sports Active hits the Nintendo Wii May 19.

From what I’ve seen I think this will be an upgrade to my Wii Fitness. EA has done a great job on the Wii Active website with the 30 day challengers etc… it’s got me excited for EA Active’s release!
