I’ve been waiting for a new X-Men comic show to develop for a long time now and I must say: I couldn’t be more disappointed with what they’ve come out with.

Wolverine and the X-Men is an unrealistic (even for Marvel studios), unoriginal, unmatched in poor quality, ugly development of the otherwise excellent X-Men cons. Characterization in the movie is horrific, I was blown away with the changes and sat staring at the screen in horror. Wolverine, the hot headed X-Man who never sticks around and plays things his way–running in first, questions later, was by some devious, unexplained miracle put in charge of the X-Men. Our otherwise hot-headed X-Man suddenly becomes a cool, collected manifestation of Scott Summers who always has a plan, who never dives into action, and is reprimanding our (real) leader Scott Summers for juvenile behavior.

I’ve never liked Scott Summers because he’s got that ‘teacher’ air about him and he’s always playing the captain, in charge and in control of the situations. Now Scott’s normal attitude is completely switched with Wolverine. Instead of a calm, cool leader, we’re presented with a hot headed, rambunctious, disobeying juvenile delinquent who doesn’t think anything out and goes with whatever He feels like. Yes, it is Most disturbing.

Not only that, but the characterizations are ALL laughable, if it wasn’t so sad. Kitty is pictured as the all-American little prep girl instead of a jumpy, shy thing, we’re given a girl who has pigtails and a mind of her own. Rogue is a meek, Wolverine-dependent little addict who tries to take things into her own hands. Gambit, our favorite Cajun Xman, is a thief with No alliance and No cares for who he hurts in the process of getting nice money sacks. He literally cares for nobody. Our charming Swamp Rat has become an annoying slime who looks for any way to make a quick buck (but not by just thieving, No, now he agrees constantly to steal weapons that’ll be used against his race) and then shrugs it off afterward when the desirable outcome doesn’t play out. Iceman doesn’t even get playtime in the series and Emma Frost, the calculating, sly dog we all know her to be–we’re stunned into stupidity and silence by her unexplainable attraction to the moody Scott Summers. And apparently she has a Heart now people! Only it belongs to Scott, when she decides to kill herself to save Scott and Jean’s relationship…hmmm. That’s what I’m saying too.

Not only were characterizations appalling, the storyline is crap. Full of unoriginal copies from the first Xmen series, this new development introduces Nothing new. It’s all concepts we’ve visited and gotten bored with already. Pheonix, the unstoppable bird, is unleashed and needs to be destroyed, Charles is trapped in the future and warns the Xmen of things to come, The Hellfire Club wants to use Jean, Rogue is temp. on the Brotherhood’s side, sentinels are taking over–ooh, but Master Sentinel is a girl–big frikin difference. I’ve yet to find an original scene in this yet and I watched the whole first season. You’re better watching off the original series again people, this new one will make you want to puke.

As if those first two weren’t enough, I cannot even enjoy the graphics of this new development. They’re awful. Simply put, it’s the worst drawings I’ve ever seen. I have a freakin’ tremor and I can draw fifty times better than this–I was so shocked and horrified when I first saw the graphics. Awful in a bundle. Wolverine’s got these stupid looking sideburns that dominate his face, his costume is nearly Exactly the same as original one (though you might say this was the good part, as it hides his hideous features otherwise and I have an easier time on my eyes when he’s wearing it), but the whole thing is just awful. If you really want to see what I mean, compare Wolverine and the Xmen to the other developments and you’ll just want to stab yourself.

Dialogue’s awful too! There’s absolutely no cute wit and no attempt at wit of any kind, really. Dialogue is dry and totally unoriginal, just like the series, and it made me fall asleep halfway through a twenty-minute episode. It’s just all around bad people.

After all this time waiting for a new X-Men to come out, I felt betrayed and stabbed in the back when this one finally came out. Like, are you serious with me right now marvel? I am so severely disappointed at this time, I can’t even express. After this long wait for your newest creation, you deliver absolute crap. I’m appalled.

It may have been great for little kids who are unaware of how the characterizations are supposed to be and how this series is a complete, despicable copy of the first animated X-Men, but for us veterans, this was a huge let down. It’s great to hear that you’re profiting from such failure though, huh? Guess I’ll have to wait another 10 years for something equally as appalling to come out.

While X had a rather unorthodox way of putting it…I agree wholeheartedly with the meaning behind his/her cussing.

WatXm was a huge disappointment to me. I’ve been waiting a long time for a new xmen series to branch off too and this was quite upsetting when I saw what they had done.

I’m in total agreeance with X when he says the characterizations are horrific. Scott’s like a little pouting boy and (even though I don’t really care for his character anyway (when it’s portrayed right) he’s not a little insufferable brat like that. Like the way he wouldn’t go with Wolverine until he mentioned Jean? …or how, when Rogue warned them and they didn’t know if she was lying, Wolverine told him to get suited up and he’s like ‘oh, you were serius?’ it’s like someone who Didn’t like scott got to make his character and they made him a whiney, annoying brat.

And what’s up with Wolverine being the leader? Okay, I’ve Read the comics and watched every representation of him. While he is a good, strong back for the X-men (when he’s not running away), he is in No way possible Leader material. The man is a loner, meaning he sticks to Himself, takes care of Himself. He wouldn’t know the first thing or have a clue about leading ‘em. It was a horrible little flip-flop of personalities between him and scott that went on here.

Another thing X commented on: Remy. I am a huge Romy fan, so that makes me a little bias, but can I just say: what the hell? He’s like this evil little thing that doesnt give a rat’s-butt for anyone except himself! And the whole Lorna-thing made me want to puke. Anyone else disturbed by this?

I’m afraid X also has a point about the originality lacking in this series. I really can’t stand it when people go on about how creative and original this one is. Frankly, it’s Not. They put in a few cute things of their own, right, like the Woman Mastermold, and adding in other characters as main ones like Emma and stuff, but Nothing that actually really matters. Everything is copied. I could go on to list them, but X has saved me that trouble so I won’t continue that list. Just know that It’s NOT original guys, it’s all copied ideas.

I have to admit, I was disheartened and depressed when this finally came out. Now I’ll have to wait 10 more years for another installment and there’s no guarantee that it’s not gunna be as fail-a-rific as this one was. Marvel could have done A LOT better.

WatXM is the Biggest failure I’ve ever seen and you should All be ashamed (as xfans) for liking it. It’s like a two-year old came up with this failing plotline and some idiot decided to use it.

I have not seen ONE original idea in the whole series. It’s not funny, it’s not cute, and it’s not entertaining. I saw there slack-jawed as they totally ruined each and every characterization from the true xmen we know. Scott’s made out to be this whiny little delinquent, Jean’s even more insufferably humanitiarian (which, I suppose you deserve a congrats on this ’cause it’s the Only character you kept true), Remy’s a fkin mercenary who cares for nothing but the paycheck, and uhh, apparently Emma has a heart people! Yeah, suck it.

EVERYTHING is copied from some other series. Okay, there’s a way to take an IDEA of an earlier series and make it your own, but this series does absolutely Nothing but rip off ideas. The whole charles-in-the-future-with that black dude-Ripped from TAS. Apocolypse? Ripped from Evo. Rogue-good-guy-bad-guy, Evo AND the comics. Mastermold? From TAS Again. Thank you for fkkin Taking all the ORIGINAL GOOD IDEAS from earlier versions and taking credit for them, you goddamn fkkers. Your work Sucks.

The artestry is Laughable, if it weren’t so sad. I have a fkin tremor and I can draw better than that. The taking of ideas is despicable and the characterizations make me want to puke. Concerned fan is the Only fkkin one talking any fkkin sense and you all should be goddamn ashamed of yourselfs that you call yourself an Xfan. And you like THIS atrocity? Fk you! You’re the saddest fkin representation of a fan that I’ve ever seen.
After waiting YEARS for Marvel to finally produce another cartoon series, THIS is what I got?! Fk marvel. Way to fkk things up, retards.

This show is great. I am 32 years old and find the story to be wonderfully thought out and original. I like how it takes place in 2 different time allowing for 2 related yet separate story lines to take place. Also as a former reader of the comic book I find the use of Wolverine as the leader to be a nice change of pace. It makes sense from a business prospective as well with Wolverine being the most popular characters in mainstream media. I am really looking forward to the next season and have high hopes it will be even better than the first.

I tottaly agree with M1tsuka1. A whole bunch of people are complaining about Wolvie being leader over Cyke. To those of you who think Wolverine can’t be leader need to seriously read up on your comics. Wolverine is probably one of the most dependable perso on he X-Men. He’s practically always there for them (not necesarily in the mansion). Yes he’s a loner but thats just when he needs to be. Plus in the comics (the uncany x-men series and in the new X-Factor series) Wolverine has been the leader and done very well. He himself doesn’t like being the leader (it is mentioned in the series) but he does it when they need him to. So for all of you that think Wolvie is not leader material actually know the character before critizing.

I’ve only seen a few episode and am happy they are making a new season.

I do like the plot line but many of the characters are not to comic standards. Take Wolverine in this series he is now the “Think before acting” type of character which is definitely not one of his traits, and the voice actor cannot scream or yell to make the character believable.

    Still looking forward to more.

“a concerned fan” is an idiot. if you were a TRUE x-men fan then you would see how incredibly amazing this new series is. yes this version is very different from the 90’s cartoon, which is what you obviously keep referring to, but the 90’s version is extremely different from the actual comics as well! This version brings back a lot of forgotten about characters from the comics and actually follows along with some of the original storylines from the comics SUCH AS emma frost’s attraction to scott summers..in the comics emma uses her telepathy to conduct therapy sessions with summers (sound familiar from this new series!) which later turns into a telepathic romantic affair. And that is just one example of many. This series also brings a fun new twist to the storyline that keeps us on our toes and leaves us dieing to know what happens next. Marvel has truely out-done themselves and I can’t WAIT for season 2 to come out

I really do love this series, but I have to say what I always say about any x-men series… I really wish that at least for maybe one episode they could focus on iceman. Yes this is because he’s my favorite but it’s not just that. I’m not an overwhelming fan so I really wouldn’t know if this has been addressed in an xmen tv series… but I’ve always loved the idea of iceman and how he truly could be one of the most powerful mutants in the world.. and yet his lack of self asteem stop him from trying to do his best. Especially since it differs from his normal funny man bravado he normally has. Not to mention it was Emma Frost who was the one who basically showed everyone that Bobby was capable of doing a lot more then he was, and I keep feeling like “Wow, there’s Emma Frost in there with the x-men for a change…” waiting and wondering if Bobby’s ever going to be more then a minor character considering he was an original x-men. But Again I really wouldn’t know if this has been covered before I’ve only seen a couple of x-men shows and know very little about the topic. This is meerly my own personal opinion. (Not looking for trouble.. haha) So yeah I guess I’m just a Bobby Lover.

    OMG!
    I can’t wait for more!
and believe me I’m usually SUCH a hater, but I think that (other than the weird art) this is the best x men series so far
I grew up watching the 90’s one and liked it even if there was a lot of boring Apocalypse stuff in it(there I said it, bite me)
and I liked x men evolution (once I saw beyond the blatant inaccuracies)because it was WELL DRAWN and funny and the characters were cute (HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CRAWLER!)
this is a good take on a story we all know and love so everyone stop arguing and enjoy it for what it’s worth

PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE NIGHTCRAWLER STORIES!!
he only got 2 friggin episodes in the 90’s!!
love how you guys made him so indifferent toward scarlet witch
and don’t anybody try and tell me about that alternate timeline … blah blah blah…. Nocturne blah blah blah

    keep those seasons coming!!!

    Hey so everyone knows….

In an alternate universe WOLVERINE and JEAN GREY were an item. They were head of the institute and SCOTT SUMMERS was evil and on APOCALYPSE’S SIDE.

So to the douche bag who “sooo concerned” get a live and read your comics more. They are staying in line with this story; and we’ve never got to see the Apocalypse story completely on TV.

Charlene grades that “concerned fan” a LOSER!!! and not in the same sense as us comic losers
