On the silver screen, films may tote the flag of movie magic. But, in reality most movies are hardly magical when it comes to production debacles. This is especially, and ironically true, for latest Nicolas Cage feature, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
According to police reports, a Ferrari sped out of control Tuesday night and crashed into a Sbarro’s restaurant in Times Square. The stunt was a part of production on The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, scheduled to be released in 2010. Police say that two people were brought to the hospital after being injured in the accident. Reports say that the injuries are not life threatening.
The Associated Press report stated that, “The scene required the luxury sports car to pass several vehicles in pursuit of a Mercedes as it drove down the street, which was closed to traffic during filming.”
The Sbarro’s is located at 47th Street and Seventh Avenue, near the former Virgin Mega Store.
