ABC decided to renew some of its best performing shows, over a month before it presents its up-fronts to advertisers in New York. Producers and fans can rest easy going into the spring as they’re guaranteed a fall pickup.
The most surprising renewal is Ugly Betty, which will get a fourth season. The show had reportedly been on the bubble. The least surprising is Lost, which had already been green-lighted to complete its final season next year. ABC also renewed Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Brothers and Sisters.
And what would renewal season be without the horde or reality shows on each networks. The renewals of Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Wife Swap, Supernanny and America’s Funniest Home Videos are pretty much no-brainers.
Still riding the bubble are shows like Samantha Who?, which is considered to be in serious danger at this point.
