Well, can’t say we didn’t see this coming, but NBC has decided to pull its new drama Kings, after abysmal ratings at its new slot on Saturday nights. Only an estimated 2.4 million people tuned in this past Saturday and the show barely registered a rating for the all-important 18-49 demographic at 0.6.

The remaining seven episodes of the show will air on NBC in the summer, scheduled to run from June 13 to July 25. In its stead, the network will run repeats of Law and Order at 8PM on Saturday followed by repeats of its new drama Southland, which it seems to be putting a lot of focus on.

It’s really a shame that more people didn’t tune in to the show and that others that actually did decided not to stick around. It was refreshing to have a somewhat non-procedural show take its time to develop its characters and tell a good story. But I guess even the greatness of Ian McShane couldn’t save this show from being dethroned.

This show should not be canceled. To me, its one of the best shows on television.

“Kings” is what a weekly program should be. I missed DVRing the pilot and am upset but I have each episode since and have enjoyed sharing it with family and friends.

Can you imagine how upset I feel…I get people interested in something other than “The Big Looser” “The Simpson’s,” “SVU,” “Law and Order, or some of the other mindless shows that these networks “feed” us and they hint at canceling the show. UGH!

Give it a chance for God’s sake. Put it on and quit changing the time or interrupting it…this storyline is better than most others we’ve seen.

NBC executives must be either stupid or out to send the network into bankruptcy! Shame on them either way!

If you want to see “Kings” return, do something…send NBC a note…flood the mailroom with requests to keep it on the tube.
