I speak of none other than Weeds’ Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), the widowed mother of two who has turned pushing drugs into a family tradition. And you thought the Brady Bunch was the poster group for family values?
Weeds is coming back to Showtime with the season 5 premiere on Monday, June 8. If you followed season 4, you’ll know the big cliff-hanger we’ll be looking to see resolved is whether or not Nancy is really pregnant with boyfriend Esteban’s son. Nancy was a trigger-pull away from leaving her two sons orphaned after selling out her cartel-running-boyfriend to the police. But before the grim reaper could rear his faceless head, our heroine landed the preggers bomb on Esteban.
Is she really pregnant? Oh, we’ll certainly find out come June. The Weeds Season 5 Premiere returns to our favorite cable network on June 8 at 10PM followed immediately by the much anticipated series premiere of Nurse Jackie with Edie Falco.

I guess I didn’t pay attention if that there were no subtitles. The doctors and the baby’s father were discussing if they were able to determine the paternity and the sex of the child. They were also saying that they could determine if the baby had any diseases, like mental retardation and such. The only reason she is alive is because he wants a son, so he wants to know if the baby is his and if the baby is a boy.

In season 5, the first episode, Nancy is in a doctors room with a few men and the babys daddy. They speak in spanish to eachother about Nancy and possibly what they were going to do to her (abortion?) There were no subtitles and Nancy wants to know whats going on/what they were discussing.

I’m with can’t wait. I think it has to be an ultrasound from a previous childs birth. I think she’s intelligent and probably doesn’t feel like dying quite yet, hence the idea of an ultrasound. No one can kill their own child.

I definitely think she’s pregnant and definitely think it’s Esteban’s, because you think she would ahve noticed a lack of menstruation the entire time in Mexico if it was Conrad’s. I also think she’s going to lose the baby.
I think its Conrad’s. They got it on in season 3. Andy even jokes with Nancy toward the end of season 3 about being preganent and she tells him to bite his lip. They better bring Conrad Halia and Vanita back. Either that or its Sullivan Groffs. Dumb Name

Samantha, if you’re going to be that picky about vocabulary and grammar in an informal setting, you should probably make sure that your writing is up to par before badmouthing others. For the record, your last sentence (”I never thought I’d see us butcher our own language so bad.”) should actually end with badly - adverbs modify a verb, not adjectives.
Besides that, can’t wait for season 5! I’m hoping Conrad and Helia are back in some way or another - I miss them.
It can’t be Andy’s. The bathtub scene happened hours before she left for Mexico. IF she is pregnant (which she probably is) it’s Esteban’s. She saw money and did the old keep a man baby thing. She knows how to make sure she gets what she wants. That was a great plan to make sure he would always take care of her, so that she can take care of her family.

I think Esteban is HOT! He is the first male interest who has been her equal and she did take off her ring for him. The migraines and being tired and the CVS pharmacy bag are pretty good indicators she really is pregnant. I hope it is for real and creates a whole new story line.

I deffinetly think she is pregnant and I think it’s esteban’s. I dont think she would fake her pregnancy because she is in deep with him already and she had no idea that he found out about her talking with the dea so she would have no reason to conjur up a fake sonogram or anything. I don’t really like esteban but at least this will save her from being killed.
My guess is she is not pregnant and that the ultrasound with her name on it was provided as a favor from DEA agent’s X, to whom she has been systematically reimbursing (off camera) for the inheritance she had to give to Doug (to get him off the hook from using Agrestic town funds to make a loan to Aquatecture).
