Agent Randall Harrison is dead. I don’t know why, but that makes me side. Maybe, it’s because Mario Van Peebles (who plays Harrison) a director on Damages, so I didn’t expect it. Or, maybe it was because Harrison died of a drug overdose, which is funny in a twisted way because Peebles played Stone in the 1991 film New Jack City, where he lead the war on drugs against Nino Brown.
I find it doubly humorous that Agent L.J. Werner is still alive. Why? Because Werner is played by Glenn Kessler, the Co-Creator of Damages. Coincidence, I think not. It seems if you created the show and want some face time, you’re in a much better position to stay alive than just being a hired-gun director.
Anyway, on to more Damages.
We now know that Patty Hewes was indeed shot by Ellen Parsons. In the forward flash, one month from the present, we see Werner carrying off Parsons in handcuffs. Wow. That means Ellen is two for two. Two season finales. Two times in cuffs. She just loves the wrong side of the law.
Claire Maddox tried to stage her takeover of UNR but was overwhelmingly crushed when her plans were uncovered by Walter Kendrick. Now she’s out of a job and playing canary to Patty’s listening ear.
As for Patty, Ellen’s latest blow was a fierce one that Ms. Hewes took in stride. After uncovering Phil’s affair, Ellen anonymously dropped off some candid photos of Phil at Patty’s office. Instead of fearing being blackmailed, Patty leaks the photos to the press and outs her husband’s affair on her own terms. Talk about a woman with no inhibitions. I absolutely adore Patty for her unabashed gumption.
The question still remains as to what will become of Rick Messer. He’s asked Wes to kill Ellen, but it looks like Wes is having heartfelt second thoughts. We’ve also learned that Messer is tied to some form of 24 Black Ops security group. They’ve disavowed all knowledge of Messer’s connection to them in the Frobisher case, so Messer will have to clean up the Parson’s mess himself. Unfortunately, she’ll be too busy pleading her case to the Feds.
How can Ellen come out of this on top? I have no idea. The series can’t end now. So, Patty must live, and Ellen must be freed. Is this all a cover up for some greater plan to be unhatched by the FBI or even Patty? That’s where my bet would lie. This is TV. There has to be a twist. And, there has to something up Patty Hewes’ twisted sleeve to make us love her even more. Will she turn Ellen to her side and stage a show for the Feds?
We’ve got only one more episode before the season finale of Damages. These will be two episodes you won’t want to miss.

Great episode. Good to see Patty finally showing some vulnerability, and also I was glad to see just how much Ellen wants to take her down.
Anybody else excited to hear The French Kicks? They’re one of my favorite bands, and I was way excited when I heard “Said So What” playing while Michael was at the art gallery with his girlfriend. Been looking all over for a video clip of this - anybody have one? I blogged about it here (http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/03/18/damages-french-kicksbliss) and would love to include this clip. Thanks.
WHEN is the finale?
