One of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger films of all time next to Terminator 2 has to be Total Recall. And word has it, \ the 1990 film is about to be revived for a contemporary version.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neal H. Moritz and his production shop Origin Films are close to an agreement with Columbia pictures to produce a newer version of the same tale. The original Total Recall was based on a novel by Philip K. Dick called “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.” Schwarzenegger played Douglas Quaid, a man who hires a memory-implant compary called Rekall to provide him with memories of a vacation to Mars. Instead, Quaid embarks on a journey as a special agent on Mars attempting to overthrow its evil dictator. The movie is completely ambiguous as to whether or not the entire movie is the implanted dream or if its reality.
Moritz hopes that state of the art technology can help retell the story. I think it’s cool that they’re going to reboot the movie, but they’re going to have a hard time replacing the flair that the Gubernator brought to the role.
