If you saw the reboot of Friday the 13th this past weekend, then you may have seen the new teaser trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. If not, don’t fret. Courtesy of Paramount, we have the 2 minute trailer below.
The first Transformers live action movie hit the big screen almost two years ago and most will agree that was it was an acceptable blockbuster. It definitely wasn’t a classic, but it was just about everything you could expect from director Michael Bay. To Bay’s credit, he did the best with what he was tasked to do: make an ambitious summer action flick based on the subject of many a fanboy’s dream. As such, the movie was pretty risky. Cherished comic book and cartoon franchises are always difficult subject matter for movies because making money is paramount (no pun intended), but you want to stay true to the underlying story.
So is Revenge of the Fallen, slated for a summer release (alongside 1980s sister franchise GI Joe), more of the same from Bay? A light story, a ton of action and a bunch of explosions? This teaser seems to point to that. The robots look bigger and badder and Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots will have their hands full once again.
Decide for yourself if this movie will be the real deal and if it’s worth of your hard earned cash come this summer.
