The future looks gory for Sega. The console maker turned game development shop stepping out of the realm of fun Sonic games and into the world of Blood and Gore. So, if you still think of Sega as the shop for just fun loving Sonic titles - time to think again.
Sega has just announced the licensing of a new Aliens vs Predator game with 20th Century Fox. Needless to say with two of the wickedest killers out there, this game will be non-stop blood bath.
Sega’s taking advantage of gamer blood-lust with their new batch of titles. The production house released House of the Dead: Overkill for the Nintendo Wii Feb 2009, and has Madworld scheduled for March 2009 release. The title House of the Dead: Overkill speaks for itself. As for Madworld, we played this game at NY Comic Con and can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this title is not for the weak of stomach. Expect buckets of blood from the moment you power on your Wii.
The working title will be Aliens vs Predator, developed by Rebellion, creators of the original 1999 Aliens versus Predator.
Naoya Tsurumi, CEO of SEGA West, said, “The innovative new AvP game presents an exciting opportunity for us. It represents a fantastic addition to our growing Aliens franchise and the reinvention of one of gaming’s most cherished iconic titles. By adjusting the release of our other Aliens titles to accommodate it, SEGA will ensure that every title lives up to the high expectations of Aliens and AvP fans.”
No word yet on what systems this title will be on, but hopefully we’ll be seeing AvP in HD on our PS3 and 360 Consoles.
