The United States of Tara is officially a go for season two. It was only a matter of time before Diablo Cody’s D.I.D. triple-alter comedy got the word. And, the word is twelve more episodes. So, unless one of the alters offs another alter, get ready for more Buck, Alice and T - all played by the indomitable Toni Collette.
Showtime’s offbeat comedy starring a mural painter with three distinct personalities was destined for success with Cody’s tongue and cheek humor. The premium network new they had a winner with Collette at the helm. They went all out with promotion, holding nation wide pilot screenings for potential fans.
Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt stated, “This is a perfect fit for our premium brand and we’re thrilled that critics and audiences have responded to this groundbreaking show so well. I look forward to many more alternate personalities emerging from this unique series.”
Could that be the information we were looking for in regard to the infamous mural desecration? We’ll find out soon enough.
The United States of Tara Season 2 is scheduled to begin shooting in summer 2009, and air early 2010.
