Who destroyed Tiffany’s painting? All fingers point to Tara, or more specifically one of her illustrious alters.

At the top of the list we have Alice. The wholesome housewife, a staunch prude who makes “Da Vinci Code” Opus Dei members look like sissies. Alice has been plotting to take over Tara’s bed for some time now. Is this her diabolical plan?

Next up is “T.” She’s the rebellious type and would like nothing more than to act out her teen years through a little gregarious vandalism. I wouldn’t place my money on it. T would rather party and smoke a little Botwin herb before committing the time to deface property.

Lastly we have Buck. Heck it can’t be buck. Sure, Buck is upset he lost his good parts in the war, but is that any reason to take it out on a painting?

Does the list end there? Hardly. You can’t have a good mystery without a butler or the occasional and ever elusive yet-to-be-named party.

First, Tara may have a fourth alter we’re not aware of. There was the mysterious writing on the bathroom wall which shocked the Alice out of Tara at the start of episode 3.

Secondly, what of Charmaine? She’s a cougar with her eyes on Max. We haven’t seen her approach Max since the pilot. She may be using this criminal act as an excuse to have Tara institutionalized. Could Charmaine be next in line after Alice for a spot in Max’s bed?

In this clip for episode 5, “Revolution,” Max and Tara try to figure out who defaced Tiffany’s painting.
