Let the fan boy drool begin to drop. Thanks to ComingSoon.net, take a look at the 30 second commercial spot for the upcoming GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie.
It’s admittedly hard to show anything of substance in a 30 second teaser, but Paramount did succeed (at least) in besting the expectations of many people who thought even the first live action shots of the movie would suck. We do see a great shot of Snake Eyes and a very brief glimpse at most characters. The teaser also does seem to point to some decent action sequences.
I love the Joes just as much as any other kid that grew up in the 80s and I’m holding out even the smallest bit of hope that this movie will end up surprising me by blowing me away. But decide for yourself. Check out the video below and choose whether or not you’ll see it in theaters on August 7th, 2009.

They might as well make Will Ferrel Destro and completely destroy what should be a good thing.
