Every so often, producers of MTV’s “The Real World” realize a need to switch to an international location to make viewers forget that they’ve done almost every notable city in the United States.

Back in 1995 with Season 4, MTV chose London after presumably having done the best and most eclectic US cities of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. But things returned to the US for another 8 seasons before we saw Paris in Season 13. Season 19 saw Sydney, Australia and now get ready for Season 22, The Real World: Cancun.

The Mexican party and vacation destination will be host to those “seven strangers picked to live in a house…” (although the current season in Brooklyn, NY has 8 cast members). And Cancun might be the next most appropriate location for the show next to Las Vegas, given that the RW is known for it’s partying and “hooking up.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, production has started and you can expect to see it later this year.
