Talk about a boring week. Not even a Grant Morrison Batman title can save it. We’ve got several “blah” releases this week, and everything thing screams out, “Save your money.” But, we’ve outlined a few choice selections if you’re in the buying spirit.
Ok, don’t shoot the messenger, but New Warriors #19 is on this week’s pull list. Why? Well it’s one of those bizarre future arcs, that make you say, “Hmmm?” Here’s the back story for everyone not following the New Warriors - which is pretty much everybody. Donyell Taylor, aka New Night Thrasher, wanted to travel back in time to save his brother. Only he botched it and ended up in the future. Surprising, right? No, one ever messes up when they do the whole time travel to change the future thing (sarcasm intended). Well, when Donyell gets there, it turns out the future Night Thrasher is actually Tony Stark and the future Iron Man is Dwayne Taylor, alive and well.
Oh, and we couldn’t leave former New Warrior Nova out in the cold. He’s on the pull list as well this week. Why not? Nova #20 features the New Warriors, and will also tie into the War of the Kings, so we’re browsing.
On the DC side of town, there’s nothing to buy except a Batman comic. Guess the folks at DC went on an early vacation. We’ve also got a #1 issue of Vigilante, but we’re not recommending it. Nope. We’re just mentioning it because it’s a number one. The character is lame, and it’s doubtful the title will go far.
