Heroes. It’s become more than just the name of a show. The word Heroes has become a question.

What’s the question you ask? Well there are so many. Is this season good or bad? Is it at least better than season 2? Is Heroes an intricate story or just one big cluster of characters in an elaborate plot jumble that’s overkill?

Granted, I still watch Heroes. And, every Tuesday night, when I remember I missed Heroes again - I think, “Oh, I’ve got to catch up on last night’s episode!” So they must be doing something right over there. Right?

Well, my latest quandary is deciding whether Heroes is an action/adventure series or a comedy series that occasionally makes me laugh.

Why a comedy? Because the highlight of Episode 11, “The Eclipse: Part II,” was easily when Hiro said jubilantly, “Bad Man,” when teleporting into the Bennett living room to grab Sylar and save H.R.G. Follow it up with a season 1 throwback line, “Save the cheerleader,” and you’re laughing-out-loud before you know it.

Now on to some other questions related to The Eclipse and not on the subject of Heroes bashing.

Is Elle dead? I hope not. In the future Sylar has a son, and we’re all assuming it’s Elle’s. I don’t think anything momentous enough happened to change the future we’ve seen. Which means Elle is probably alive. So, breath easy guys, Kristen Bell will probably resurface.

On the flip side, H.R.G. did say that Sylar isn’t really Peter’s brother, and Elle’s expression seemed to confirm that. That of course contradicts the future arc, where Sylar still believes his brother is Peter. Questions. Questions. Questions.

Should Ali Larter be killed off? Well, that’s my own question. I’m tired of watching Larter. Nothing personal, of course. But, no matter how much they rewrite her character she has never really found a place in Heroes. Her characterization never extends past “someone’s girlfriend.” Either they need to do something with her, or just write her out of the script.

Daphne and Matt? Hey, they’re good together. I remember season 1 of Heroes, I really disliked Matt. But, you’ve got to admit — the scene with Matt losing his powers while tilting his head at Daphne’s father (who in turn asked if he had a neck problem) was really funny. Comedy? Hmmm.

Does the Haitian have a name? His brother, Baron, has a name. Why can’t he? I mean in Haiti, do other Haitians call him the Haitian? Probably not.

Next week on Heroes, more father issues as Sylar and Peter deal with Arthur Petrelli in their own special ways.
