Well, there’s only two episodes left in the fifth season of Entourage (damn, these seasons go so quick). Tonight in “Play’n With Fire,” we learn that not every big budget film makes it to completion and we finally discover Turtle’s real name.

I’ve said it before and I’ll always believe that the writer’s will come out of nowhere and dangle great storylines for Turtle in front of us, only to yank them away just as quick. And Turtle’s improbable connection with Jamie-Lyn Sigler already seems way too good to be true. But his willingness to do whatever it takes to stay with her was on full display as he let her know his real name, Sal. I’m hoping for the best for him, but really am not expecting the relationship to last beyond this season. Which means that Jamie-Lynn will more than likely break up with him on the phone (It’s a good thing that Jerry Ferrara is dating Sigler in real life).

But tonight’s episode wasn’t all about romance, the relationship between Vince and Verner reaches a head when the crazy director insults the actor by talking not so nice about his acting abilities. He ends up firing Vince (not really, he doesn’t have the power to) which results in Ari raising hell to get the studio (Dana Gordon) to fire the director. And the end result? What no one could’ve expected. The studio cancels Smokejumpers. Just like that, Vince is out of a much needed “comeback” job.

Play’n With Fire will go down as one of the series best episodes, offering up serious thoughts for viewers to ponder. Never before has the future of all these characters been brought into question.

So the gang is on their way back to New York, probably to clear their heads and figure out how to rebound from this unexpected setback. Tune in next week for the Season 5 finale. Are things over for Vince? Will the writers give us anything to chew on for the hiatus before Season 6?
