Well, last week’s previews of Dexter didn’t lie: Miguel Prado was really put to the test tonight. Could Dexter’s new BFF step up to the plate and really join the serial killer inner sanctum? Meanwhile, Deb gets even closer to Anton and finds out that he isn’t officially a confidential informant.
I can’t say that I believed Miguel would actually go through with tonight’s killing. All the signs pointed to it not happening. Between Harry’s ominous warnings and Miguel’s very cavalier approach to the killing, there was no way that the meticulous Dexter would allow it to go down. But he did. And just like that, we now have the Batman and Robin of the serial killer profession. Funniest scene of the night had to be the two partners-in-crime shopping for their murder accessories.
So what’s Dexter to do now that he has to share the stage with Prado. I mean, if he wasn’t able to do so with his own brother, what makes us believe he’s willing to share it with a guy he’s been forced to be friends with? Miguel is now in on everything, the research, the saran wrap ritual and the actual act of, you know, making the victim pay the ultimate price. I guess the only thing that’s left is to allow Prado to dispose of the body and evidence, but that would make things look and smell too much like the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Meanwhile, Deb finds out that Anton is off the books as her CI. Paid in cash and his original charges weren’t marked up? Yeah, Quinn - this situation definitely has a fishy odor to it. And she’s in too deep now, shacking up with Anton and putting him in further danger. Oh, Deb, when will you learn not to mix business with pleasure?
It’s only a matter of time before Dexter and Miguel’s relationship sours and one of them is exposed as having an illegal nighttime hobby. My money is on Miguel spilling the beans in some way - either through his carelessness or his fiery temper. And we only have four more episodes in the season, so something is going to happen very soon, if not, next week.
And yes, the skinner continues to hide in the shadows and apparently, he’s kidnapped Anton in order to take help him “exfoliate.” I think our favorite CI is as good as dead and Deb will have to live with the fact that she got him killed.

Thank you for informing me!!! oh… a weight off my chest!
Well Alex, there is definitely a season 4, and actually a season 5 as well. In October Showtime announced that Dexter was commissioned for another two seasons.
Yes, I breathed a sigh of relief as well when i heard the news. Although knowing that there are two more seasons, kind of takes away from raising the possibility that this “will be the end of Dexter?”
I REALLY hope I am misinterpreting this because it’s actually quite fun to watch the darkness being shared. I hope he went to Ellen’s house for adultery and not for co-operation on busting Dex.
Is Dexter being framed by Miguel Prado (and that defense attorney)???
I got that feeling throughout the episode and the end topped it off…
–There better be a season 4 –
