When Tessa plays around with Kryptonian technology, she unknowingly signals Maxima, queen of Almerac, to come to Earth.

This alien isn’t here to help Kal-El or take over the world. No, she’s here to find her soul mate. And she’s packing a kiss that can kill - literally. Any human male that comes in contact with her dies from an overload of endorphins. Gives a new meaning to needing “protection.”

I have to say I cracked a smile when Maxima confronted Tessa, seeking to find the Kryptonian. When she threw Tessa across the room it vaguely reminded me of the old Luthor days. Remember when Lex would try to strike a deal with someone more powerful than him then get tossed aside like a human rag doll - only to give Clark the opportunity to use his powers and save the day? Yeah. I miss those days.

Alas, we’re trapped in this Luthorless pathetic season of Smallville.

Not to mention a Brainiac infested Chloe. She seems to more about alien lifeforms, specifically Alermac, than our hometown hero Clark. Oh, and as for the Brainiac callback. Chloe quotes to Clark, “Maybe this time we use a little less brawn and a little more brain.” Milton Fine made a similar statement to Lex when he first landed in Smallville.

When Clark gets a taste of Maxima, his eyes light up as if he just had a whiff of red kryptonite. Lois catches Maxima and Clark about to get a little x-rated in the elevator and throws Clark a jealous, yet stern, ‘talking-to.’

Is it me or isn’t it a little soon for Lois to get jealous over Clark? Just another notch on the belt of forced story arcs in this final season of Smallville.

I guess it was all worth it just to hear Lois say, “Bring it bitch.”
