FX is quickly becoming the premiere network for launching new comedic sitcoms and dramas.

Testees is the latest half-hour comedy series from former South Park writer Kenny Hotz. It’s the story of two friends who make a living as test subjects for Testico, a drug and product testing facility.

In each episode, the guys will have to cope with the unusual side effects brought on by the test products. Side effects range from the run-of-the-mill memory loss to good old-fashioned penis enlargement that requires a blood transfusion just to prematurely ejaculate. If you’re looking for a new raunchy comedy this is it.

Although a unique and humorous concept for a one-off. It’s hard to see how this show can maintain its premise for more than one season before becoming too outlandish. The pilot did not establish much interest in each of the characters for you to want to see them again. Sure, watching mishaps are funny. The downside, however, is that watching two guys take a drug each episode only to see what crazy side-effects may result will quickly become mundane.

Testees Pilot Rundown:
In the pilot Peter (Steve Markle) and Ron (Jeff Kassel) each take a new pill from Testico. Luckily for Ron, he gets a pill that’s simply a placebo, while Peter gets stuck with a pill with more adverse effects. The next day it becomes quickly apparent that Peter has taken some bizarre fertility pill and is now pregnant. After becoming attached to the baby, Peter and Ron decide to run away before Testico has the opportunity to take back the little bundle of joy they bestowed on the duo.

While on the run, Peter goes into labor and Ron must deliver the baby. In a scene that will easily have you laughing out loud, Ron discovers that it wasn’t a fertility pill that Peter took. It was a gasoline tablet. The baby ended up being what felt like a five-minute expungement of gas. Gross.

Catch the series premiere Thursday, Oct. 9 at 10:30PM on FX.

I absolutely LOVE this show. It is so hilarious and funny. It is definately for anyone with a great sense of humor. I am looking forward to the first season coming out on DVD. “Jellybean Omeltte” was one of my favorite episodes.
I have high hopes that it will return for another this fall.

This is proof that the writers have absolutely nothing to do and have depleted all their brain cells thus losing all sense of reality and morality. I for one do not find it appealing from any angle and give it maybe one season before viewers get bored.
