All hail SAMCRO. FX has greenlighted “Sons of Anarchy” for a 13-episode second season.
The freshman motorcycle-club drama, created by Kurt Sutter, stars wife Katey Sagal, Hellboy legend Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam.
Written in the vein of Hamlet, Sons of Anarchy has quickly gained a cult following - and not just from motorcycle enthusiasts. The edgy series attracts estranged Sopranos fans and women who love watching Katey Sagal get her bad ass on.
Though still working out the kinks between over-dramatized situations and dark comedic undertones, Sutter has created a template for a winning series. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the series averages 3.5 million adults 18-49 on a weekly five-telecast cume basis.
The motorcycle-club drama from creator/exec producer Kurt Sutter has been given a 13-episode order for its sophomore run, with stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman on board. John Linson and Art Linson also exec produce the drama, from Fox 21 and FX Prods.
Sons of Anarchy airs every Wednesday at 10PM on FX.
