Chuck’s back to being the intersect. Was there really any doubt he wouldn’t be. Chuck wouldn’t really be Chuck without him having some value. That cute nerd look only gets you so far these days.
In “Chuck vs. The Seduction,” legendary Night Court lover Roan Montgomery (John Larroquette) teaches Chuck how to spring a trap for a sexy spy (Melinda Clarke). First things first, Chuck has got to learn how to relax and give a girl a kiss. Who’s the test subject, none other than the Chuck’s forbidden flame of Eden - Sarah. When Roan calls Chuck a virgin, our Nerd Herd spy decides to seize the moment and embrace Sarah in a moment of unabashed love.
Two episodes into the second season, and Chuck easily maintains its title of being one of the wittiest spy comedies of the time. Sure the twists and turns are predictable. Chuck tries to transform into his spy alter-ego only to barely escape with his life from the black widow. In the process Casey and Sarah are captured and it’s up to Chuck to rescue them.
When Sarah is used as the Black Widow’s hostage, Chuck takes a page out of Roan’s old spy stories. He swings off of the top of the Buy More to tackle the Widow and save the day. Will wonders never cease?
One thing that was unexpected is the return of Bryce, Chuck’s ex-friend and Sarah’s ex-boyfriend. We’ll see how that love triangle plays out next week.
Sadly, Chuck has joined the ranks of overtly saturated product placement. When Roan seeks Chuck out at the Buy More, there is a close up of a stack of Nintendo Wii consoles.
Hey, I love Mario as much as the next person, but please be a little more subtle.
Discussion begins on Chuck Season 2 Episode 2, right after tonights episode of Chuck at 8/7C on NBC.
