Although tonight’s episode of Prison Break was entitled “Safe and Sound,” the Scofield 7 are anything but that. The gang is getting precariously intimate with The Company, who, in turn, are also in hot pursuit of them.

And if you haven’t tuned in for a few episodes, YES, we’re still hunting keycards and YES, we’re still making narrow escapes. Sara partakes in a real life game of Frogger in evading Wyatt. Michael, Lincoln, Sucre and Bellick arm themselves with power tools and a cleaning-crew rouge to drill their way into the next cardholder’s safe (in a US Treasury building of all places).
Even T-Bag is able to talk his way out of being killed in exchange for delivering Scylla - not to mention the fact that he’s extorted by his fake secretary at Gate.

I like the way that things are escalating with The Company, but the card hunting saga is getting redundant. I guess it’s hard to fill up a 22 episode order and actually mix things up each week.

However, a few developments did distinguish this episode. Mahone meets with his ex-wife for an emotional meeting to identify Wyatt as his son’s killer (Sara also confirms his mug to Mahone). We also saw Gretchen pull a trick straight out of the Joker’s playbook by stabbing a guard with a pencil. Neat trick!

Overall, things aren’t looking good for Scofield and Co. Agent Self has been made by The Company and Michael is still catching nosebleeds (and I don’t mean bad seats at the Dodgers game). Things look to get even worse as Mahone appears to be arrested in the next key card capture.

Tune in next week at the same time for Episode 6, Blow Out.
