Prison Break - Episode 4.03 - Shut DownI’m happy to report that Prison Break retained last week’s awesomeness tonight. The last we saw of the Scofield 7, they had just retrieved card number 1 of 6 that make up Scylla. In tonight’s episode, “Shut Down”, the race to find the rest of the cards began.

Agent Self means business and ups the ante for Michael and team. If they don’t find all of the Scylla key cards, they’re all going back to prison. (How’s that for motivation). So it looks like this season will be an old-fashioned game of cloak and dagger.

Equipped with skills of deduction that would make Colombo proud, the gang decipher a mess of clues in order to figure out that The Company is sending their emails in ridiculous codes. As such, they are able to track down the info they need to a server in Anaheim. After a life-threatening, but quick scare, Michael and Roland make off with the valuable info after Lincoln comes to the rescue.

But alas, Agent Self is given orders to shutdown the operation. Team Scofield is hunted down rather quickly via their GPS jewelry, but not before Michael could nab a cell phone video of the secret meeting of The Company. Ladies and gentlemen, we now have identified those high-ranking and powerful people that we will be hunting down for the next 10 episodes. Here’s to hoping that they at least mix up each mission - break in an office building, stage a fake car accident, play a game of Scrabble…etc.

As an all important side note, William Fichtner steals the acting prize again this episode, making his conflicted character a heart-wrenching joy to watch. His Mahone also means business as he contacts his former FBI partner to get some info on who killed his son. We also find out that The Company is keeping his wife alive so that they can smoke him out.

So now we head into Episode 4 and all things are great: Mahone’s officially in vendetta mode, assassin Wyatt is on his way to LA, T-Bag is ready to stumble upon his Fox River friends and Gretchen is nowhere in sight. I had a mild concern that the show wouldn’t retain the adrenaline from last week’s premiere, but it held up quite well.

Tune in next Monday for an all new episode: “Eagles and Angels”. If you missed this week’s episode, you can watch it here.
