This week is packed with goodies on the comic pull list. Unfortunately, too many goodies can quickly burn a hole in your pocket. So, outside of the typical Final Crisis stuff from DC Comics, Secret Invasion Tie-Ins from Marvel, and the oh-so-great X-titles that have been consistantly good, I’ll keep my recommendations to a minimum.

“New Warriors” is a title you may want to browse while in the comic store. Dwayne Taylor, former Night Thrasher, may have been a Skrull - worth checking out… or not. “Wolverine” has been consistent as well, and features a blind Hawkeye, and a mysterious new Kingpin that killed Magneto — though I bet they’ll realize it was Xorn all along anyway.

I’m almost against recommending FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND #1 (OF 2), even though it’s obviously a Final Crisis tie-in. Why? It comes with 3D Glasses. Why not just add on a gold-foil stamp, put it in a sealed bag, with a commemorative trading-card while your at it? Let’s not go back to the 90s with these comic gimmicks. Keep the foil-stamps buried back in the 90s where they belong.

MARVEL COMICS
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 569
The Story: “NEW WAYS TO DIE!”
SPIDEY’S a villain? NORMAN OSBORN’S a hero? What kind of crazy, mixed-up world is this? Next thing you’ll tell us is that black is white and white is black…Or maybe that has something to do with VENOM, MISTER NEGATIVE, and the birth of an all-new Spider Villain! Or would that be an all-new Spider-Hero? Either way, True Believer, this is a 1st appearance you do NOT want to miss!

BLACK PANTHER # 40
The Story: “SEE WAKANDA AND DIE,” Part 2
The nation of Wakanda has never been conquered by any outside invader, but then again, they’ve never faced an army of Super-Skrulls before, have they?
