Man, Corporate America sure does love its cross-promotions. Virgin America has announced that it is teaming up with Time Warner (HBO) to launch a new non-stop New York-Las Vegas flight which will include an “Entourage” class of service. Yes, THAT Entourage, as in HBO’s current best show.
On September 4, the partnership kicks off the unveiling of a new co-branded aircraft named “Entourage Air.” The first flight from JFK to Vegas will include an advance screening (by 3 days) of the first episode of Season 5 of Entourage.
According to Virgin America Vice President of Marketing, Porter Gale:
“With mood-lit cabins and the most advanced touch-screen entertainment system in the U.S., we are on a mission to reinvent travel and bring a little style and entertainment to the skies. HBO is known for redefining the genre and Entourage’s hip, sexy vibe is a perfect match for our guests and for our new JFK to Las Vegas route in particular.”
While I don’t really care much for the name of this line of service, the actual content they’re providing does sound enticing. Virgin will offer premium HBO content on RED, its in-flight entertainment system from Sept. 5, 2008 - October 2009.
Entourage is back on the air on September 7 on HBO.
