Rumors have swirled about who would replace William Petersen on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for quite some time now.
However, CBS is now confirming that stage and screen veteran Laurence Fishburne will, in fact, replace Petersen in the upcoming tenth season.
The actor will reportedly play a forensics investigator that possesses secrets.
Fishburne is apparently happy to join the show, talking with reporters during a conference call:
“I felt a little stupid and embarrassed that I hadn’t watched the show prior to having a meeting with them. But I’m happy to say that the episodes that they sent me to look at were really, really engaging and really wonderful, and kind of dark and moody, like a lot of the work that I’ve actually been involved in. So I’m very excited.”
