Gearing up for Dexter Season 3

If there’s one show that is a must-see this fall season, it’s “Dexter.” And, now that Showtime has added Emmy and Golden Globe award winner Jimmy Smits to its hit series, you’ve got one more reason to get on the phone, subscribe to Showtime, and hop on the bandwagon.

In season 3, Smits will appear as Miguel Prado, an ambitious, charismatic assistant district attorney who comes from one of Miami’s most politically powerful and beloved families. Dexter will join forces with Prado - in 10 of 12 episodes - in the pursuit of a murderer who affects both of their lives directly.

The Dexter world is still catching its breath after an amazing second season. From betrayals to frame jobs, to downright cleverness, “Dexter” is one series that has it all.

I’m still startled that more people haven’t gotten in on the Dexter secret. Michael Hall repeatedly delivers a serial killer that you can’t help but love. And the twists and turns are to die for. Literally. Much like “The Sopranos” and “The Wire” were reasons to subscribe to HBO, “Dexter” is the reason to take home Showtime.

Five years from now, everyone will wonder how they let the gem that is “Dexter” slip past them. And, I’ll smile the ‘I told you so’ smile.

Dexter is easily one of the best shows ever created. I’ve been waiting since the second the last season ended for the new season to start.

Episode for episode, Dexter has had one of the strongest 2 seasons I have ever seen. Not once was I bored or not on the edge of my seat waiting for the next development. I sure hope they can keep the adrenaline high for Season 3. Jimmy Smits will be a welcome addition after the (necessary) loss of Sgt. Doakes
