Martin Scorsese (The Departed, Goodfellas) is thinking about jumping from the big screen to the home theater. The Oscar winning director is currently in talks to direct an HBO drama pilot entitled “Boardwalk Empire.”
Why Scorsese? Who else better to direct a story about the 1920s origin of Atlantic City than the infamous “Godfather” director himself. Scorsese is already an Executive Producer on the project, and he’s bringing along actor Mark Wahlberg for the ride.
Scorsese hasn’t directed a TV show since he worked on Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” in 1986.
