If you’ve been overwhelmed by the number of comic book to film movie adaptations of late, then get ready to go one over the top. Disney has recently inked a deal to adapt the “Monster Attack Network,” a graphic novel by Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman with art by Nima Sorat, to film.
The story deals with the perfect Pacific island of Lapuatu, inhabited by giant monsters.
Thrill as Nate Klinger and his daring team of first-responders at the Monster Attack Network expertly deal with the frequent rampaging-beast-related crises. Wonder if the shady American industrialist who comes to the island bearing “gifts” and the mysterious, gorgeous Lapuatuan ex-patriate are up to no good.
Adapting a comic book movie to film has almost become cliche. But in the wake of a summer filled with “Iron Man” action and “Dark Knight” thrills, who can blame producers for setting their sights on the next big comic money-maker.
