DC Nation, without a doubt one of Comic Con’s most beloved panels, was kicked off once again by fun-loving mystery man Dan Didio.
Didio prides himself on playing with DC Nation fans by throwing out questions to the audience and never directly answering anything. He pits fans against each other, and before you know it, the panel is over and none of your questions have been answered. It’s annoying, but heck we love DC for it. The mystery is what keeps us intrigued and reading.
Will a Speedster die? A Speedster always dies. And with Rogue’s ready to kill, the obvious target is Impulse. Even though Captain Cold proclaims, “Rogues don’t kill speedsters” in “Rogue’s Revenge,” he quickly sets his sights on Impulse. The one jerk-off who royally screwed the Rogues.
But the big question remains, who “should replace Bruce Wayne as Batman?” Most fans are looking at Dick Grayson as the obvious choice. Despite recent Teen Titans future arcs, Tim Drake is just not ready for that responsibility (I feel a web-slinging Marvel cliche quote coming on, but I’ll resist it).
Now, let me step out on a limb for a moment. I think I speak for everyone in saying we as a DC Nation stand firmly against Jason Todd taking on the mantle of the Batman. Maybe if Todd had just stuck to his guns as the Red Hood we could see it. But after running around masquerading as Nightwing during his own “Identity Crisis,” most think Todd needs to be retired. His time in “Countdown” was an absolute waste, and we’re just tired of seeing him.
I did hear one theory, that’s worth entertaining. Starting with the last issue of Detective, DC’s latest arc within an arc (the Return of Hush takes place within the Batman R.I.P. story) heralds the return of HUSH. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Hush become the new Batman? Maybe it would end up becoming another Azrael story. But you never know. One thing DC does do, is surprise.
Think on that and get back to me.
DC Nation panels, always surrounded by humor, had it’s high moment when a fan yelled, “You want to kill everyone!” Didio, ever looking to add fun to his panels, quickly invited the fan to share his voice on the panel as an editor. The fan quickly hopped up on stage. Who wouldn’t?

Dick Grayson all the way. After Azrael booted him from the batcave, he’s never really redeamed himself.
