Making its first appearance at San Diego Comic-Con was Fox’s Prison Break, coming right after an explosive “24″ panel.

Fans packed out the auditorium awaiting their favorite stars of the show, including Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Sarah Wayne Callies as well as producers Michael Olmstead, Kevin Hooks and Dawn Parouse. However, despite putting a place card down for all expected attendees, Wentworth did not show due to other filming commitments. There was a collective sigh of disappointment, but the show went on.

The session started out with a nice-sized clip of the upcoming Season 4 premiere.

If you’re not inclined to spoilers, then don’t read on!

One thing is obvious from this teaser: Michael is hell-bent on getting revenge for all of The Company’s misdeeds, the most important of which is their slaying of the “only girl he’s ever loved,” Sara.

Michael tracks down Whistler and Gretchen in Los Angeles where he confronts the dark-haired antagonist with a gun. She convinces him that Sara is not dead and that they fixed the whole thing in order to keep their leverage on him.

Speaking of Sara, legions of fans were happy to see SWC back on the show and directed a lot of questions at her.

When asked if the show was originally intended to span 4 seasons and Dominic answered that he only expected Season 2. Season 3 was brought on by the success of the show and given its “unrealistic nature,” and “great writers” the show, Season 4 (and beyond) is possible. Kevin Hooks chimes in and comically adds that “there are a lot of prisons in the US.”

Sarah answers the Michael/Sara reunion question by saying that the two reunite during the premiere, but doesn’t promise it will be before the first commercial break.

She also mentions, as a response to another question, that this whole has changed Sara completely and she sees parallels between her character’s trauma and her personal friends that are coming back from the war.

The panel was asked if there would be another prison/incarceration. Thankfully, they said no and that this upcoming season would be more about “breaking in” than “breaking out.”

Dominic got shoutouts from the crowd for his work on John Doe and spoke a sincere piece on how much of a joy it is to work with Wentworth and that their on-screen chemistry as brothers is a testament to how good their real-life relationship is.

Another fan, dressed up as an Avatar character, let Dominic know that he resembled that show’s character, Combustion Man.

We also find out that Sucre, Bellick and T-Bag will return, which we already knew.

Well, it would’ve been great to have Wentworth there, but the panel served its purpose - PB fans were treated to a look into what it takes to create the show and what’s coming in the fourth season.
