It’s save your money week at Buzzfocus. Well as far as Marvel Comics goes at least. Each title on the Marvel pull list, is easily an audible purchase. Which means, you’ll probably skim it and put it right back on the shelf. We’ve earmarked four titles, with two standouts: Amazing Spider-Man #562 and X-Force Special #1.
But here’s why I’ll probably leave those on the shelf as well. For starters Amazing Spider-Man has been shelfed ever since brand new day. Got a problem with that? Don’t care. It sucked.
As far as X-Force goes, I’m still a big X-title fan, but this is a stand-alone book featuring Wolverine. Honestly, we know Wolverine won’t die in the end, so why waste the time reading it?
Onto DC. This week is light on lacking both Crisis and R.I.P., so you may get to save even more money on the DC side of the world.
Action Comics I’m skimming. Geoff Johns keeps telling everyone that 2008 will be the start of a brand new direction for Superman. But, we’ve all heard that before. At least Johns has built up a reputation of trust with excellent standout story arcs. So Action Comics is one title to keep on your radar..
Green Lantern Corps has been pretty good, with the lead-in to the Blackest Day or was that the Blackest Night? Well whatever it is, it’s bad and it’s coming in 2009. This is also an issue 25, so definitely keep an eye out for this title if your going to spend any money this week.
Titans #3 is also out and this is probably the one title besides Green Lantern Corps that I’ll definitely buy.
But, seriously… What’s with Cyborg? We’ll have to start calling him Humpty Dumpty because all the king’s horses and all the king’s men have yet to put Cyborg back together again.
