Veteran actor Jimmy Smits will join the cast of Showtime’s Dexter during its third season. This move comes after his short-lived drama “Cane” was canceled by CBS.
Smits will play an assistant district attorney that comes from a powerful family.
Dexter returns to the air this fall with new episodes.
