Starring Ray Stevenson (HBO’s “Rome”) as Punisher, PUNISHER: WAR ZONE is directed by Lexi Alexander and produced by Gale Anne Hurd and Ari Arad. Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the “Punisher Task Force” hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.
I feel like the Punisher is one of those comic character/heroes that should NOT make his way to feature film. He’s not a stand-alone character type. Without the right script he just becomes Rambo.
They should just leave him as an ancillary character in a larger movie.
Oh yeah, I’m still trying to forget Dolph Lundgren’s Punisher. That may go down in history as one of the worst comic book movie adaptions of all time.
Hopefully this one will be better than the first.
