Jake Gyllenhaal has been officially cast to star in the upcoming big screen adaptation Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young and adventurous Persian prince who works to prevent an angry ruler from obtaining the Sands of Time, a mystical item allows its owner to reverse time.
Also signing on to the movie is Gemma Atherton, who plays the princess that Dastan teams with to stop the destruction of the world.
