On tonight’s finale of Big Brother 9, Adam “Baller” Jasinski bested Ryan Quicksall and was crowned the champion. The former public relations manager originally from New Jersey walked away from tonight’s live broadcast with $500,000.
Tonight’s episode featured the members of the jury asking “Baller” and Ryan a number of tough questions on why they played the game the way they did. In my opinion, Adam did the best job of answering and, for good measure, mentioned his philanthropic intentions for the money he’d win.
The rest of the broadcast was mainly flashbacks and other filler to keep viewers anticipating. The final set of votes were read at the end by host Julie Chen. Of the jury votes revealed live, the most surprising one was Sheila’s for Adam. She clearly carried a great level of bitterness for the lying that Adam did which resulting in her eviction from the house. But it’s good to see that she was able to separate that when it came down to making a decision. It only took 5 votes out of 7 to be read for Adam to be named winner.
Another cool twist was that James woke $25,000 for being America’s “Favorite Juror,” which was determined by a viewer poll.
Well, I’m glad it’s over. Watching a season of Big Brother usually feels like a slow, painful death. You want to pull away, but you’ve just got to see who will get backstabbed the next week. Even though Big Brother signs off for now, you can tune in on July 13, 2008 when CBS returns with Big Brother 10.
