Hollywood rumor mill has Jake Gyllenhaal setup for the lead in the 2009 Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer video-game movie adaption “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.”

Talk about BULL. If one thing should be obvious from the title of the game is that the star should be Persian or at least Middle Eastern. This isn’t the first video game movie casting rumor for the star of “Brokeback Mountain.” Gyllenhaal is also up for the role of Billy Batson in the DC Comics film Shazam! (Captain Marvel), as well as Spider-Man 4 should Tobey Maguire step down.

Maybe there are no Middle Eastern actors out there? WRONG. How about Sayid Jarrah, actor Naveen Andrews, from “Lost?” Now that’s one bad ass star that I’d love to see star as the Prince of Persia. He already has a huge cult following from his role on “Lost.” And, you know what? When you look at him, he looks like he could be the Prince of Persia (at least moreso than Gyllenhaal).

What do you think should star as the Prince of Persia?

I do think that they way they made up Jake Gyllenhal looks almost exactly like the prince. But who can really tell for sure? He’s animated. Naveen Andrews would be a good choice too, but even though he’s middle eastern, and gorgeous, I don’t think it would be the right choice. The perfect choice would be Jared Leto. Just look at a picture of Jared and then look at a picture of the prince, and try and tell me that he wouldn’t be the perfect choice to play the prince. Jared Leto is my choice, hands down.

Oh for god’s sake, you’re all so bloody pathetic! I think Nightsdoor is the only person who’s made a decent comment on this page…

All you have to do is look at the f***ing character and Jack f***ing Gyllenhaal and notice a resemblance… !

Jesus, it’s a game! The fact is Jake bares a number of resemblances to the main character in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and that on it’s own makes Jake a good choice for the roll, plus he IS a good actor REGARDLESS of whether he played a gay man in a movie…!

Besides, in most games the characters DON’T look like or sound like where they’re supposed to be from anyway!

actually, Persians are Iranian. Only someone who claims to be Aryan would say that Persians are Caucasian. You’re not Aryan, you’re just white. Get over it.

Actually, Gyllenhaal does look a bit like the video game character. Blue eyes and all. And he is certainly talented enough to pull off the role. And as mentioned above, yes, some Persians were white. Look to your history or at least reconsider your viewing of the movie 300. Persia was a widespread and far-reaching empire. Making it an ancient melting pot.

And yes, while Naveen Andrews is a fine actor, he IS of Indian decent and born in England. And NO he does NOT look like the video game character. Selecting a still shot of Naveen looking intense while on the set of “Lost” next to the POP also looking intense and both having a goatee does not do the trick.

Aside from appearance didn’t you notice that the video game character doesn’t speak Farsi? Or even bear the accent?

nooooo way he can be the prince f persia

u know i am a big fan of this game i finished it all

    sands of time…….warior within…….the 2 thrones…and i loove it soo much as a game
it is my favoirite game ever

they cant make this cute blonde here do the role

    nooooooooooooooooooooooooo way

he is soooooooo white 4 it
no fance i am white 2 but he is not the suitable face

and he must have a face of a serious man
i mean this one looks soo innocent like a child

naaaaah he can make romance it is ok but not this one

so sa’eed jarrah might be good 4 this role

but there is more people who can do it better

arab actors who acts arab movies or tv shows
maybe they didnt act in hollywood yet
but this dont mean the wont love to
    or they cant do it

it is just that they didnt have the chance

so i recommend that the director starts to thin seriously
its time 4 him 2 cut the craaap
