If you can’t SMASH ‘Em - CAST ‘Em. That’s the word on the new “Incredible Hulk” video game from Sega.

Marvel Entertainment, Inc., SEGA of America, Inc and SEGA Europe Ltd. announced that the Hollywood cast of the 2008 Incredible Hulk feature film is all on board for the video game. And why not? Who doesn’t like getting paid to be the voice of a video game?

The all-star cast will reprise their roles from the “Incredible Hulk” movie:

  • -Edward Norton (Fight Club, The Italian Job, The Illusionist) plays scientist Bruce Banner
  • -Liv Tyler (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Strangers) is Dr. Betty Ross, Banner’s love interest
  • -Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction) voices Emil Blonsky (alter ego of The Hulk’s archenemy, The Abomination)
  • -Tim Blake Nelson (Syriana, Meet the Fockers) portrays Dr. Samuel Sterns
  • -William Hurt (Into the Wild, The Village) plays General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross

Whether the game will actually be a Smash is still up in the air. Movie-adapted games have notoriously run afoul, though I’ll be the first to admit the second “Spider-Man” game had its fun moments.

A good voice cast can definitely add to any games overall flavor. “Mass Effect” is a great example of brilliant voice casting helping to bolster a games fun factor. And, who can forget “Marvel Ultimate Alliance.” One of the games on the XBOX 360 worth playing until you unlock all of those great achievements. And the surprise ending with the VO cast was well worth the time invested in beating the game time-and-time again.
