A ton of great news came out of today’s NBC “up-fronts” announcement. The one item that I’m most excited about is the announcement of the September 15th premiere of the third season of “Heroes.”
The action/drama will return with a 1-hour clip show followed by a 2 hour premiere episode. This season is said to focus on the villains on the “Heroes” world and how they rise to power.
Other cool shows that will return next season:
“Friday Night Lights” will return with its third season in February (DirecTV will air it starting in October)
“The Office” is getting a spin-off, although it doesn’t appear that it will feature any characters from the beloved show. NBC will also air 1-hour long episodes in September.
“Saturday Night Live” will air 30 minute sketch shows on October Thursdays revolving around the presidential election. They will be called “SNL: Thursday Night Live.”
A new show entitled “Kath & Kim,” will premiere on the network this fall. It will star Selma Blair and Molly Shannon. It is a remake of the Australian show of the same name.
“Kings,” the new NBC drama will get a 2 hour movie to serve as its premiere.
“Knight Rider” will air in the Wednesday, 8-9PM slot
“Chuck” is returning in the Monday, 8-9PM slot, before Heroes.

Why doesn’t NBC start KINGS in the fall? It’s the only show they’ve got that looks any good.
Gilbert, clueless ignorant, you need to use your brain not just your head.
Who cares about Heroes. After season 2 which was like what 5 episodes of Alejandro yelling MAJA OR MAYA or whatever her bleeding eyes name was, got verry rote and borrring.
They might as well cancel it. I remember deciding between heroes and 24 back in season 1, and going for heroes, now that decision would never cross my mind.
