ABC has initiated plans to remake a New Zealand comedy series called Outrageous Fortune.
The series will be helmed by Rob Thomas, the creator of Veronica Mars. Thomas is also working on a new remake of the 90s teen drama Beverly Hills 90210.
The new ABC series has yet to draw a name, but it will revolve around a matriarch who decides to set her criminal family on the path to righteousness after her husband is incarcerated.
The U.K. has also made a remake called Honest.
