When will Aang and his airbending team of do-gooders return to Nickelodeon?
The question has been on Avatar fan’s mind since “The Day of Black Sun (Part 2): The Eclipse”. After such a climactic episode we were left wondering what would be next for Aang? What would be the ultimate fate of Prince Zuko?
But, alas, we were left with no answer. And no further information on when we’d see the next chapter.
Now there are some who have already seen the next two episodes of Avatar: “The Western Air Temple” and “The Firebending Masters.” YTV jumped ahead of the U.S. showing these two episodes in Canada. And, of course there are those villains who defied Hollywood and the MPA by downloading the episodes illegally. But for the legal-minded citizens, the future of Avatar Aang remains a mystery.
Tonight I noticed my DVR recording, but for the life of me I couldn’t think of what it was recording. When I checked, I saw that my DVR was recording Avatar the Last Airbender. It was in the middle of recording so I dared not tune in for fear of losing out on the full experience. But I did checked which episode was recording: “The Avatar and the Firelord.”
Foiled again. Well since it was a repeat, and it had been several months since my last Avatar fix, I decided to watch the repeat episode. But, to my dismay instead of watching Avatar the Last Airbender I was stuck with Drake and Josh.
Now, though I’m sure Drake and Josh is great for tweens, I have to say I was severely let down.
And where does that leave Avatar? Still out in limbo. Well here’s hoping that after Nickelodeon’s 21st Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, March 29 Aang will make his way back to the airwaves.
Keep your fingers crossed everybody.

Sorry . . . I meant to add the following:
According to fan site “avatarspirit.net”,
the cartoon is slated to return to Nick on July 14. Yay!!!
They’re still working on the “live” version,
so maybe the producers and network
simply want to do that one “right”,
and then go back to the “cartoon” version.
If that’s true, I applaud the effort
(let’s avoid the bomb that the live version of “Ben 10″ turned into!).
Of course, it might be just a “con” to garner fan interest/reaction,
but, that’s okay, too!
