Don’t count this 90210 star out, Jennie Garth has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming CBS comedy pilot My Best Friend’s Girl.Garth recently made an appearance Dancing With the Stars, and also starred as Amanda Bynes’ older sister in the WB’s What I Like About you.This will be one of the most interesting pilot seasons in a while. After WGA strike that cut several TV seasons short, and pushed back production on numerous movies, Hollywood’s looking for new life through it’s pilots.The hint of a Hollywood recession lingers in the air, with many struggling artists trying to land a gig to pay their rent. While, networks are looking for the next big hit to make their numbers.CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves said, “If there’s a downturn in the economy — and clearly there is — and it affects some of our businesses at their fringe, with radio and TV stations, we do things to change it.”Only time will tell what will happen to the entertainment business for 2008. This summer, SAG contracts are up for negotiation, so we may be in for another strike just before the fall season starts.According to the Hollywood Reporter:
