Ridley Scott’s new thriller titled The Low Dwellers will star The Departed hero Leonard DiCaprio. The two plan to co-produce the film with Scott directing and DiCaprio starring. Scott and DiCaprio recently wrapped on the geopolitical thriller “Body of Lies.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter:
the movie centers on a man (DiCaprio) trying to assimilate into society after he’s released from jail, only to find someone from his past pursuing him to settle a score. In addition to the pursuer, a third male character and a female love interest are said to figure prominently in the story.
The dark thriller is the first major spec script sold after the now infamous WGA strike. The script comes from new writer Brad Ingelsby who sells insurance out of Pennsylvania. Ingelsby sold the script in the mid-six figure range to Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media.
The buzz is that this movie is made in the vein of No Country for Old Men, but only time will verify that.
