Country singer Emilio Navaira was critically injured Sunday morning after his band performed at a Houston nightclub Saturday night.
At 5am Sunday morning, the band’s bus crashed into traffic barrels west of Houston on Interstate 610 northbound in Bellaire. Navaira was one of eight passengers injured, though a full report of the other passengers conditions had not yet been released.
Navaira, 45, won the 2003 grammy for “Acuerdate” in the category of best Tejano album.
Lisa Lagrone, hospital administrator at Memorial Hermann Hospital, said Navaira was being treated in ICU and in remained in critical condition.
The bus was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
