Iron Man Cartoon Nicktoons Marvel ComicsComic books are back with a vengence. Every decade comic books stake their claim to take over TV and Film. Whether it’s Bill Bixby as Bruce Banner, Jack Nicholson as the Joker, or Christian Bale as Batman, the end result is the same. People love comics. And once there’s enough broad appeal for comics in film, cartoons are sure to follow.

The latest two heroes to make their way to an animated series are Iron Man and Wolverine. The Nicktoons Network and Marvel Comics has commissioned a series for each character that will have a 26 episode run. Both new cartoons are slated to premiere in early 2009.

The Wolverine cartoon, will feature the X-Men without Professor Xavier. According to TVGuide, Wolverine will also feature Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. Villains will include Magneto and of course sentinals.

Iron Man will feature a fatherless Tony, and follow the young entrepreneur/scientist through his teenage life. Yikes!

UPDATE: Based on some of the promo pics, it looks like the White Queen will also be a part of Logan’s mutant team. In the comic series, the White Queen is currently on the X-Men and Cyclops’ current love interest.

they make it sounds as though wolverine is the leader of the x-men. I guess he’s got that mass appeal that kids will like so they’re changing up comic history to promote his character.
